GlamModelz Magazine is excited to introduce Fashion, Glamour, Beauty Model Erica LaShay, of city Dallas, Tx. Erica’s obvious beauty is matched not only by her desire to dedication and creativity as a model. GlamModelz looks forward to seeing many great things from Erica LaShay in the very near future.
GlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Erica LaShay!
GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business? Erica LaShay: I’ve always wanted model, just didn’t think I had the height for it, So one day I told myself I can do anything I want if I put my mind to it. And look here I am.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your goals personally and with your modeling career? Erica LaShay: I would love to be in a couple major magazines, Fashion shows, I want to travel and show that I can be very diverse and not just the model with a hot body.
GlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101 any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Erica LaShay: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, AND MORE PRACTICE, if you feel the pose its probably right.
GlamModelz Magazine: What have been your greatest successes to date? Erica LaShay: Knowing that I have came this far when others thought I couldn’t, I put God first in everything I accomplish and if it wasn’t for him I would not be where I am today.
GlamModelz Magazine: When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Erica LaShay: Of course I love putting two different thoughts together, it makes the shoot more interesting and fun!!! Teamwork = really great shots!!!!
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Erica LaShay: I’m okay with Implied, only if it’s respectful, tasteful, creative and classy; I like to leave something for the imagination.
GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Erica LaShay: At first no, But now everyone is supporting me, Good to have someone beside you believing in your every step.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts on the whole escort issue? Erica LaShay: If you have been modeling awhile, and are working with well-known photographers, then that is up to you. I think it’s different with each person and photographer. It depends on who you bring as well, sometimes escorts help – other times they hinder. I feel why have so many people around, it only makes everything awkward. If you have a bad feeling about working with a photographer where you have to bring your whole family, let it be.
GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model standpoint? Erica LaShay: I wish every photographer out there was as nice as the photographers I have been blessed to work with. Also the industry stereotypes on models. I’m a curvaceous girl, but doesn’t limit me to lingerie model only.
GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Erica LaShay: Omg!!!! Photos keep me motivated and knowing that Photoshop can make u look great isn’t my idea of modeling. I always want it to be WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!!!
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Erica LaShay: It’s funny to me, I just read over it and keep it moving, at first I couldn’t stand it, but now I tend to take it as it is and ignore them.
GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Erica LaShay: If it benefits both parties then its okay but has to be beneficial, some models don’t like to invest in themselves. I DO!
GlamModelz Magazine: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? What to have and where to find deals? Erica LaShay: Bring your closet as you will never know what you might need at times.
GlamModelz Magazine: What excited you the most when you first started modeling? Erica LaShay: Seeing my pictures knowing that I had something to do with creating a magic.
GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this?? Erica LaShay: I’m actually working on face expression now, to me it’s all in the mind, and mood you’re in practice makes perfect
GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Erica LaShay: Yes, I have things that I love to shoot in my comfort zone, think out the box try something new, you never want to bore others.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle rejection? From photographers, agencies and your piers? Erica LaShay: I take it as me needing to work harder to show them that I have something they need.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle imperfections? And how important do you feel professional make up is to a model. Erica LaShay: I handle them great, You tell me what I need to work on and I promise it will be fixed. MUA’s are great, they play a important role in photography.
GlamModelz Magazine: If you had one thing to tell a model just entering the industry what would that be? Erica LaShay: Be yourself, Know what your goals are, try new things, and always practice. Oh yeah have fun!!
