GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business? Kristen: Well I’ve always wanted to model, ever since I was a little girl. But all the companies I went to wanted too much money and my parents couldn’t afford it. One day in may of 2007, I was lookin in the paper and came across a model agancy based in Edmonds, WA. I went and checked them out and started my portfolio with them and everything just escalated from there.

GlamModelz Magazine: What are your goals personally and with your modeling career? Kristen: I’m in the process of getting my cosmetology license and then I want to go to school to get a degree in business. I’m hoping to start a wedding planning business and open a salon. With modeling I want to be well known and liked, I have so much fun with it! I’d like to get an issue of Maxim, or Playboy that would be awesome! Getting a cover and a spread for Glam Models is so exciting it’s really a start to put myself out there to see who Kristen is and what she’s about! Thanks everyone!!!

GlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101 any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Kristen: To all the new models getting into this biz…Don’t try so hard to pose! Let it come naturally, your pics will look sooooo much better! You’ll find a lot of the wielder or harder poses look awesome and don’t fake your smile or try to be over sexy…you can see it in the photo.

GlamModelz Magazine: What have been your greatest successes to date? Kristen: I would probably have to say getting the cover and spread in Glam Models and a full issue of Obsessed Magazine as well. Oh yeah and I just did a music video for Jon B. too. That was a major one!!!! That guy is really cool.

GlamModelz Magazine: When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Kristen: Definately!!!! Two minds are better than one.

GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Kristen: If you’re not comfortable doing it, don’t. I’ve done alot of it and at first I was a little nervous but it’s something you definitely need to know you’re comfortable with.

GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Kristen: Oh yes, they are all excited for me about it. Some of it they weren’t too thrilled about but they still support me regardless.

GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts on the whole escort issue? Kristen: If you’re not comfortable working 1 on 1 then there’s something wrong. If you need someone to help with hair, make-up, or wardrobe that’s different.

GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model standpoint? Kristen: The issue of height with runway models I don’t think you should have to be a certain height to model clothes. I mean I’m 5’2″ but I can strut. lol.

GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Kristen: Well for the fact that I have a 3 year old I look pretty good! I like to be healthy and part of that is working out and lookin good

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Kristen: I take care of it in a professional matter. I can usually tell if someone is serious about working with me or just wants me in front of their camera for their personal reasons.

GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Kristen: I think it’s a great idea. I know I don’t always have money to pay someone for photos. It also helps both the model ad photographer build in their portfolio.

GlamModelz Magazine: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? Kristen: What to have and where to find deals? Your wardrobe should fit you and where ever it is you’re having the pics done. Always make sure you have everything you need, it’s no fun preparing for a shoot then getting there and realizing you’re missing an earring! I get alot of my stuff online or onsale. Hint: you can write it off on your taxes too!!!!

GlamModelz Magazine: What excited you the most when you first started modeling? Kristen: Getting the exposure! Working with great people and having fun with all of it! I’ve come along way in the last year and a half.

GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this?? Kristen: Ha ha, looking back at my pictures and thinking oh my gosh why did i make that face! I practice my facial expressions and posing a lot, it help get you comfortable for almost anything.

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Kristen: Oh yes! Because sometimes you have to do unusual poses and flexibility could make or break that pic. Also, who wants to see the same poses, expressions, or look in every photo! It’s a good idea to work with alot of different photographers, everyone can bring a different look of of the photos.

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle rejection? from photographers, agencies and your piers? Kristen: It’s all a learning experience. If someone doesn’t want to work with me, hey it could be your loss!

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle imperfections.. and how important do you feel professional make up is to a model? Kristen: Well I know I’m not perfect but some parts of me are pretty awesome I believe that the make-up on a model should represent the model, photo, and setting. I’m studying for my Cosmo. license so I know what is too much and what’s not enough.

GlamModelz Magazine: If you had one thing to tell a model just entering the industry what would that be? Kristen: Don’t do anything you’re not comfortable with. Relax and have fun! You’re doing this for you, no one else. And always always be your best! Thanks and much love.
