GlamModel Preciosa
GlamModelz Magazine is pleased to introduce a new face to the Fashion, Glamour, Beauty Modeling industry, Preciosa of Dallas, Texas. Her obvious beauty is matched not only by her desire to succeed as a model, but the amazing potential that she possesses. We look forward to seeing many great things from Preciosa in the very near future.
GlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Preciosa!
GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business? Preciosa: I was approached by a photographer at a Noriega concert and he gave me his business card. He said he thought I had an exotic look and that I would be perfect for a calendar he was working on. So I called him and my first photoshoot was for a calendar, and I posed on a Harley Davidson Big Dog, and the rest is history.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your goals personally and with your modeling career? Preciosa: I began in the entertainment world as a model and have brought a unique look for a model my size but I am a woman of many ambitions and I am working towards being an actress and being on the big screen as well. I love being in front of the camera and hope that it is a great steeping stone for me and my future. I have enjoyed all the photographers, MUA’s, wardrobe stylist, and other models that I have met and have relationships with and hope it continues to grow as my career expands to other avenues of the entertainment industry.
GlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101 any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Preciosa: The best suggestions for me would be to always be comfortable in what you do because your pictures will always show it. You have to be confident.
GlamModelz Magazine: What have been your greatest successes to date? Preciosa: My greatest success to date I would say is being published in Worldwide publications such as The Souce Magazine and XXL Magazine.
GlamModelz Magazine: When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Preciosa: I can say it has been both. I have worked with photographers that schedule a shoot and tell me, this is your shoot, you tell me what you want to do and we do just that. And I also have worked with photographers that have a vision and I help them bring it to life.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Preciosa: I myself have done both and I don’t think any less of anyone who does or doesn’t but to me its a matter of personal choice.. I think it depends on the model and how they want to be perceived.
GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Preciosa: I have had support from everyone around me. The only advice they give me is to not degrade myself and to always be respectful, tasteful and classy in my photos.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts on the whole escort issue? Preciosa: I think everyone’s comfort level is different and sometimes it just depends on the situation. I have never brought an escort to a shoot. I always talk to the photographer before my shoot and if I need to get references then I do just that. Safety is a huge issue know a days so I understand why some models do it, especially if your going into a new town for a shoot.
GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model standpoint? Preciosa: The million dollar question, well I think that many would agree that beautiful doesn’t mean you have to be an anorexic looking model, a certain height, or weight.
GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Preciosa: Life motivates me. I want to be healthy not only to look good but to be around for my family for as long as possible.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Preciosa: I haven’t had a lot due to the fact that I always email with the individuals I work with. I make sure they understand that this is business and I don’t mix business with pleasure. I am also in a relationship and I am very clear on that too. But the few that I have encountered I tell them that I am a professional model and if they are looking for something other than that, they need to look elsewhere.
GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Preciosa: I believe that if you agree to do a tfp it should be beneficial to both the model and photographer.
GlamModelz Magazine: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? What to have and where to find deals? Preciosa: My philosophy is it is better to have more than not enough. Anyone that has worked with me will tell you that I bring “my entire house” with me. I have a bag for my shoes, a bag for my make up, a bag for my accessories, and a bag for my clothes. So I always go prepared. I always find deals at the smaller stores not your typical big named stores.
GlamModelz Magazine: What excited you the most when you first started modeling? Preciosa: The entire business. I got to meet great new people and to travel.
GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this?? Preciosa: I am a visual person so I practice some expressions in the mirror and I also like to browse magazines.
GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Preciosa: Definitely. It shows your versatility and being able to be open minded.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle rejection? from photographers, agencies and your piers? Preciosa: I handle it well. I know that I may not always fit the perfect model and its okay with me because for everyone I don’t get I have others already lined up.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle imperfections.. and how important do you feel professional make up is to a model? Preciosa: Well no one is perfect so we have to live with our imperfections but at the same time you don’t want to make them obvious or noticeable to the entire world, so makeup does help.
GlamModelz Magazine: If you had one thing to tell a model just entering the industry what would that be? Preciosa: Always be true to yourself and your goals.
