GlamModelz Magazine is honored to interview the popular and glamorous Dallas, Texas model Shannon,  Shannon is not the new face on the block, she has worked very hard for the past few years in the Dallas area and has quit a following. Her stunning beauty, dedication and professionalism is unmatched by any model in the industry today. We look forward to seeing many great things from Shannon in the very near future.

Shannon-CoverGlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Shannon!
GlamModelz:
How did you get your start in the business?  Shannon: I kept getting approached by photographers, so I decided to give it a try. Once I started, I loved it.2 – What are your goals personally and with your modeling career? I would love to be in major magazines like Maxim, and GQ.

GlamModelz: Posing 101 any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Shannon: It always helps me to practice some poses with an outfit. This way you know what pose would make you and the outfit look good.

GlamModelz: What have been your greatest successes to date? Shannon: I’ve shot for Magazines, Calendars, and Websites. I’ve shot in many different states, and also in the Dominican Republic.

GlamModelz: When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Shannon: Of course. It’s always a two way street. I have ideas that I want to accomplish during the shoot, and they do as well. I bring a variety of concepts to each shoot, but I never like to finish a shoot until we are both satisfied.

GlamModelz: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Shannon: I’m okay with Implied nude, as long as something is covering the necessities lol. My dad always said “Keep your hidden treasures hidden.” haha :)

Shannon-Glam-14GlamModelz: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Shannon: My family, and boyfriend have been amazing. They are both very supportive. I’m sure there are some people that I’m friends with that are probably not a huge fan of it, but they don’t say anything lol.

GlamModelz: What are your thoughts on the whole escort issue? Shannon: For newer models who are working with photographers that are not well known – Yes, take someone with you. If you have been modeling awhile, and are working with well-known photographers, then that is up to you. I think it’s different with each person and photographer. It depends on who you bring as well, sometimes escorts help – other times they hinder.

GlamModelz: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model standpoint? Shannon: I think the industry is changing for the better. It used to be mostly skinny very tall girls , but now it has moved on to include shorter, curvacious, and fuller figure girls as well. It’s good we are getting away from model stereotypes.

GlamModelz: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Shannon: I have shoots booked constantly! lol That’s usually pretty good motivation. I work out 4-5 times a week.

GlamModelz: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Shannon: If someone is initially rude or in appropriate I don’t respond. I don’t have time for that. I’m sure they get the message.

GlamModelz: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? It just depends. Shannon: TFCD’s are okay if you are shooting mutually with a photographer, have previously agreed upon it, and are both getting images you want from the shoot.

Shannon-Glam-13GlamModelz: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? What to have and where to find deals? Shannon: I try to always have a little bit of everything. Even though you might have an idea in your mind what you would like to shoot, often when you see the location it changes lol. Ebay is the greatest place to find cute items!

GlamModelz: What excited you the most when you first started modeling? Shannon: When I would get images back and love them – That’s a great feeling!

GlamModelz: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this?? Shannon: I think mostly from practice and seeing yourself in pictures. After you see the look you’re making on a photo, you’re either like, “Oh that’s hot”, or “Gosh don’t do that again!” lol

GlamModelz:
Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Shannon: Of course. I always have things that are my favorite to shoot, like Cowgirl! However, I shoot everything you can think of. This way I am marketable to a variety of companies.

GlamModelz: How do you handle rejection? from photographers, agencies and your piers? Shannon: Rejection always hurts. If it’s from a photographer or agent, you just learn to try harder. However, I think being pretty makes a lot of people rude to you. They never get to know you, and just hate you immediately. They assume you are a diva. Which is sad, it makes you tough though lol. The first few times someone was unnecessarily rude to me, I was off set and surprised. Now, I think I’m immune to it lol. You have to try the best you can to be this perfect person, but no matter how much you try you can never please everyone.

GlamModelz:
How do you handle imperfections.. and how important do you feel professional make up is to a model? Shannon: I don’t think any model likes to have imperfections when they’re heading to a shoot. You just have to give your best anyway. I think make-up artists can do amazing jobs, but I also like to do my own make-up. It just depends on the occasion.

GlamModelz: If you had one thing to tell a model just entering the industry what would that be? Shannon: It’s a crazy industry but it’s really amazing at the same time. You might be really busy and stressed, but overall you will enjoy it. Anyone who gets the chance to be a model is blessed.
