GlamGurl Renee Klingler
GlamModelz Magazine is pleased to introduce a new face to the Fashion, Glamour, Beauty Modeling industry, Renee Klingler of Kokomo, Indiana. Her obvious beauty is matched not only by her desire to succeed as a model, but the amazing potential that she possesses. We look forward to seeing many great things from Renee Klingler in the very near future.
GlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Renee Klingler!
GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in modeling? Renee Klingler: I am a recovering Cancer patient and was asked by a group called Lasting Impressions, a division of Cancer Society, to do a Calendar to sell which would profit Cancer patients.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your personal goals with your modeling career? Renee Klingler: Since I am 37, I do not know how long Ill have in the business. But Ive been very surprised with the interest and the amount of work Ive been able to gain so far. Its fun, keeps me motivated and my particular work is helping lots of people. So my goal is to bring Cancer awareness to people and make other Cancer patients realize that if they bring the beauty from inside to the outside, they can still achieve anything a healthy person could.
GlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101; any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Renee Klingler: I would say my two biggest things I’ve learned being short is that if standing, you must always arch the back and get the S shape. And relaxing is number 2 of things I think are important.
GlamModelz Magazine: Renee, what have been your greatest successes to date? Renee Klingler: I have been featured in print for; Cancer Society Calendar, Breast Cancer Fundraiser, Spokes-model, speeches, trips to many places, Book Cover with myself and children as princesses that get handed out to children in hospitals, 6 lingerie/swimwear contracts,Patriot Girls, Zumba contract, Abercrombie tear sheets, pinup posters, and I love Lucy pics I got to auction in Jamestown New York for Cancer causes.
GlamModelz Magazine: When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Renee Klingler: I almost always have my own thoughts and ideas. Im always brewing with the next theme or idea but if its a paid deal , I follow their lead but will offer my thoughts if asked.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Renee Klingler: Although there’s a lot of nude pressure in the field, a model has to set her own standards and not allow anyone to pressure her. My opinion is posing with some coverage is just as sexy or more than the fully nude body.
GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Renee Klingler: I have some support but the majority of my support has come from the wonderful friends I’ve met through it. I’ve met a couple of great friends that are models and photographers. They understand the drive, the creativity aspects and the ups and downs that come with the business.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts on having an escort with you on a shoot? Renee Klingler: I tell every photographer that I’m bringing an escort! I feel for safety a model should always have the option. But more than 90 percent of the time, I don’t. A lot of times, it depends on the references of the photographer, the location and the theme. Safety has to be first but the model always has to take full responsibility if there is an escort that the person stays out of the way and does’nt become a distraction.
GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a models standpoint? Renee Klingler: Just that the models and photographers take the work seriously and respect each others needs, wants and visions.
GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Renee Klingler: For me, health is number one! Many models concentrate on how thin they are. Fighting Cancer, my motivation has to be to embrace my curves and concentrate on staying strong and staying young by eating right ,exercising and taking care of myself. My children are enough to make me want to take care of myself and to have any accomplishments in the modeling industry give me the extra boost to keep doing it.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Renee Klingler: I just stand my ground, a QUALITY company or photographer does not push that issue!

GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Renee Klingler: I think we all have to do it to grow and to keep getting work. But i also think models are wasting their time doing it with photographers that don’t have the same visions, ethics or work quality. I have two favorite photographers that I know I can change my port up with that I click with.
GlamModelz Magazine: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? What to have and where to find deals? Renee Klingler: Shopping in bulk, shopping secondhand or sharing with other models or checking with designers to do TFCD are things that work for me.
GlamModelz Magazine: What excited you the most when you first started modeling? Renee Klingler: The excitement that grows when you complete a project you put so much effort in and you see the results. Its an adrenaline rush.
GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this? Renee Klingler: I had to find my own style. I listen to other photographers and models for suggestions but learned to find my niche. I’m still learning. I think its about growing and getting better each time I shoot.
GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Renee Klingler: I think its important to show what is of interest to you! I can go from the sexy to the sweet to the artistic or to my favorite…. PINUP
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle rejection? from photographers, agencies and your piers? Renee Klingler: I never assume I’ll make it into any assignment I try out for. I just try to be positive but not get my hopes up. By doing that, you don’t get let down but just get excited when you succeed. I’m also learning that we have to fail at somethings to succeed at the next best opportunity. Its all about learning and never giving up.
GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle imperfections.. and how important do you feel professional make up is to a model? Renee Klingler: What Ive found is none of us are perfect. Almost no cover model is as perfect in person as they are on the cover. A model has to except their flaws and accentuate their positives. I reassure myself I’m fine even though I know I am not perfect. I try to play up on things I feel are my selling points. For some projects, professional artists are a must!! but if you know your body well enough and you practice, you can achieve the same results without the added expense.
GlamModelz Magazine: If you had one thing to tell a model just entering the industry what would that be? Renee Klingler: Stay true to yourself and don’t let a negative experience influence your future experiences……Let each day be a growth experience.
