axella_cover.jpgGlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Axella! Lets get started in shall we:)

GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business? Axella: I got started in this business when I was 18. I had a profile on an online dating site. I was contacted by a representative of a photographer. She informed me that I would be a good fit for her photographer. I took a few more modeling assignments at the time. However, I went through a modeling hiatus and did not really start to get back into it until 2008. It has been an interesting experience and modeling over the last 10 years has advanced leaps and bounds in my opinion.

GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with Implied and Nude posing? Axella: I believe that it is important to be versatile in this field. Limiting yourself to only a few specific types of modeling can cause you to miss great opportunities to work with some very talented photographers. What I have noticed is that if you are less than 5’7 it is best not to rule out implied or nude modeling because fashion is left to the taller models in the industry.

GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model standpoint?Axella: It would be wonderful to see more fashion opportunities for shorter models especially in print since not every female on this planet who purchases clothes for themselves is 5’7 or taller. Height requirements can create unrealistic expectations for striving models.

GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Axella: I think it is important to stay healthy and be height-weight proportionate. The camera is not always going to make a model look flattering that is why it is up to him/her to try to stay in shape and look his/her best at all time. Photoshop wizards can only do so much.

axella_6910-copy.jpgGlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together?Axella: I find it is always best to be polite, but yet firm as well. If a model is asked to do something that compromises his/her ideals or beliefs a simple “no thank you” is sufficient in getting his/her point across.

GlamModelz Magazine:axella_6863-copy.jpg Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Axella: I think there is a fine line between TFCD and being taken advantage of. A majority of photographers today are not willing to pay models; yet, they are able to make money off the photographs taken. The model has to pay for transportation, clothing if a theme is involved, and makeup application. It becomes very costly after a while to accept TFCD because you are not breaking even. I only accept TFCD if I know the pictures will add a new style to my portfolio that I did not already have. I will not accept TFCD on a whim. I pay bills like everyone else and my time is money. It is work to sit in a very uncomfortable position for a length of time on a freezing cold floor scantily clad and make it all look effortless.

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Axella: It is very important to have a diverse portfolio. If you want to get noticed by a variety of photographers you have to show them through pictures what you are capable of. The pictures need to portray different sides of your personality. That way the photographer is able to get the full picture. If you only have one type of style in your portfolio you are going to be limited to that type of work until a photographer decides to be adventurous and use you for something not within the limits of your portfolio.

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle imperfections.. and how important do you feel professional make up is to a model? Axella: I think imperfections are part of life. No one is completely flawless. We all have a mole or a freckle that we want to hide. It is important to have a professional makeup application prior to your shoots if you can afford it. The really good makeup artists are good for a reason. They hide a majority of our insecurities so that we can feel more relaxed in front of the camera.

A Good Review of the New Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera

By Jeremy Bayston  |   Submitted On March 13, 2017   The Nikon D3400 is aimed primarily at people who want to learn about photography and are moving up from bridge cameras or compact cameras or coming straight in from having taken up photography with their mobile phones. As a result it is designed to help people to move along from the automatic settings, which will probably be used initially, onto the semi-automatic and manual settings and ...
