New Years, revisiting Chrissy Victoria

Home Contributing Models, Glam Modelz   New Years, revisiting Chrissy Victoria

GlamModelz Magazine interviews Glam Model Chrissy Victoria of Keene, NH.  Chrissy was first featured in GM early in 2012. Since then a lot has happened to Chrissy and 2012 was an exciting and challenging year. Chrissy is back for her second feature as the 2013 New Year’s Special Edition and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see her familiar and adored face here again.

From a photographer’s and editor’s standpoint, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to get the chance to create this feature. The New Year is all about renewal. I am fortunate enough to work on a regular basis with a young woman whose inspirational qualities as a person and a model bring renewal to my spirit each and every time I see her. As we pass from 2012 and into 2013, it is my hope that the beauty Chrissy and I bring into being will be something that inspires others to find renewal in the beauty of friendships and relationships that already exist and are so very important to the happiness we create around us each and every day.

newyear-CoverGlamModelz Magazine: It has been quite the busy year for you this year. What were some of your greatest successes in 2012 in the modeling industry and in life overall? Chrissy: I have been very proud to be a part of GlamModelz twice this year! It has been an honor and a privilege. I was also lucky enough to be a part of Boston Nightlife Awards on December 10th where I was runner-up for Miss Nightlife 2012 and had the opportunity to announce award winners with Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots. In life overall I’m very excited to have recently completed the first half of my senior year; one more semester to go and I will have finished my B.A. in communications. It has been an incredible year!

GlamModelz Magazine: What were some of the greatest challenges this year?  What would you have done differently this year? Chrissy: Although I’m excited to only have one semester left of college it has definitely been a tough road getting there. My workload at school made it difficult to find time for much else; I had to sacrifice time with friends and family, cut back on hours at work, and even modeling took a back burner. I’ve tried to keep in mind that it will all be worth it!

IMG_5366GlamModelz Magazine: Have any of your personal or professional goals changed this year when it comes to your modeling career?  Looking back at 2012, what do you feel you take from this year? Chrissy: I definitely have seen a change in my goals. Having to find a balance between school and modeling has led me to find a common ground between the two. I’ve found that I’ve become interested in sports announcing and hope to look further into it in 2013.

>GlamModelz Magazine: You’ve just passed your 4th anniversary in modeling this past Autumn. What keeps you inspired about this industry? Chrissy: Modeling is an escape for me. Every time I go to the studio or have the opportunity to participate in an event it is a chance to create original imagery and, more importantly, meet new and incredible people. I’ve made some fantastic friends in 2012 through the modeling industry and met some very accomplished people. It’s never a dull day!

GlamModelz Magazine: Your new image gallery is even more incredibly diverse than your first gallery. Was it a conscious decision to be more diverse in 2012?  Chrissy: I think that diversity comes with time and experience. However, I’ve definitely made some conscious efforts to create imagery that will enhance my portfolio. For example, there is more creative fashion imagery in my port now than I think there ever has been. Even with all of the work photographers like Rick Trottier and I have done together the ideas keep growing, the possibilities are endless.

IMG_9086GlamModelz Magazine: What are some of the biggest challenges facing our Industry over the next years? Chrissy: I believe the time has come for the “standard” model physique to change. All of the models working in this industry are beautiful in their own way, but so are all of the women and men who consume the images. The popular small-structured figure in women is attractive, of course, but only 5% of American women actually have that. It’s unrealistic and I think this industry needs a wake-up call.

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you have any thoughts or advice you would like to pass along to photographers who shoot fashion and glamor? In your opinion, what makes a successful photographer?   Chrissy: I think a successful photographer has a game plan. Communicating with the model before the shoot is crucial because you can discuss what concepts you want and also discuss the models’ limits when it comes to glamor photography. Communication prior makes for much more well-planned images, and the model and photographer are also on the same page. In addition, I think photographers need to be careful how much T.F. they shoot. T.F. is “trade for”, usually meaning the model/photographer trading their time for imagery and so on. While it is appropriate in some situations, trade can also dilute the business side of the industry.

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you have any hobbies or special interests that you feel contribute to your success in modeling and why do you feel they are a contributing factor in achieving your goals?   Chrissy: I love working out and I also love healthy foods. I think having an active and healthy lifestyle is important to success in modeling because a healthy glow and energy are what makes you stand out.

IMG_0027GlamModelz Magazine: Do you promote any special charitable organizations or community services that you would like to share with our readers?  How do you feel community service benefits your modeling career?    Chrissy: I am in a sorority at my college that is very active in charity and volunteer work, so it is very important to me. We do charity and volunteer work for the National Kidney Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Foundation, the local soup kitchen, and many others. Community service is so important to society because it promotes a caring attitude and brings people together. It is also beneficial to my modeling career because not only do I get to do something I love but I also get to do it for a good cause.

GlamModelz Magazine: One year from now, where do you see yourself in the Modeling World?   Chrissy: It’s hard to say, but I’m hoping that in a years’ time I’ll have a more permanent gig. I’m not sure what that will be at this time but that’s the beauty of it!

In our Modern World, planning and analysis, numbers and assessment have taken over much of what we do. Almost no decision in the realm of business, even as and now especially as it affects the world of entertainment, is made without consulting the bean-counters and their algorithms. It is almost to the point where soon, parents will make choices as to how to dress their kids for school based on measurable data from research on ...

A Good Review of the New Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera

By Jeremy Bayston  |   Submitted On March 13, 2017   The Nikon D3400 is aimed primarily at people who want to learn about photography and are moving up from bridge cameras or compact cameras or coming straight in from having taken up photography with their mobile phones. As a result it is designed to help people to move along from the automatic settings, which will probably be used initially, onto the semi-automatic and manual settings and ...
