GlamModelz Magazine interviews Glam Model Emma Rose of  Deland, Florida. Emma Rose has a unique style that is all her own. With creative posing, beautiful features and expression, Emma Rose is fast becoming a recognizable face within the Glamour Modeling Industry.

GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business Emma Rose, and what goals have your set for yourself?  Emma Rose: I originally started my modeling career shooting with a few of my friends who were into photography, around 6 years ago. My friends and I would go to some of the really unique and rustic places around our home town and just take photos for fun. Before I knew it, in a short amount of time I felt so incredibly comfortable and at home in front of the camera. I eventually started researching photography and modeling networking websites, trying to build my portfolio, and reach out to others nearby that shared my passion. I came across ModelMayhem and OneModelPlace, and the rest is history. I started shooting with professional photographers and built a pretty solid portfolio, which I am so grateful I was able to do. My goals are simple, with one basic root: To be happy doing something I absolutely love. Modeling is what fuels my fire. As long as I am in front of a camera, creating art to be admired, I am happy. Success to me is sharing my art with as many as I possibly can in the time I am given. Anything that comes with that is a blessing. “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars…”

DSCF0071GlamModelz Magazine: When working on concepts for upcoming shoots, how much thought or effort do you put into it? Where does your inspiration come from?  Emma Rose: I put a lot of time and effort into planning for the concepts for my shoots. I like to be as prepared as possible. With that said, in the past I have found some of the spontaneous, almost thrown-together shoots to produce some of my best images. I like to be prepared and I like to be in character, but I work well under pressure and on the spot as well. My inspiration definitely stems from a bohemian style. I love tying in a boho/hippie feel to fashion.

GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times? Emma Rose: Modeling IS my motivation to stay and shape and look my best. Such a simple answer, but it is what makes me strive to be the best I can be. I take my health and personal fitness very seriously. Between the gym, distance running, yoga, and a mostly vegetarian diet, I keep my body, mind and spirit as healthy as possible.

DSCF0149GlamModelz Magazine: The Modeling reality TV shows have created quite an interest in modeling these days. Can you offer any advice for those interested in getting their big break? Any tips for models wishing to do it sooner rather than later? Emma Rose: Start working on a great portfolio, focusing on your strong points. Get as much experience as you possibly can. Practice in your mirror daily; study the movements of your face, and the poses and angles that compliment your body most. Own it. Know how incredible and talented you are, no matter what. Ignore negativity at all costs. Confidence is key in this industry. Never forget your boundaries, and never forget your worth and value. Love yourself and never let anyone bring you down. Hold your chin up high, and set goals for yourself. Never ever forget how amazing you are. Even when it may feel like you’re never going to get there, something is always waiting for you right around the corner, but you can’t give up!

GlamModelz Magazine: Nude modeling is a difficult decision for most models to make as a career choice, what lead you to make that decision? Do you have any regrets about your decision? How much of your time is spent modeling nude for photographer’s own portfolio updates? Emma Rose: I have a lot of respect for fine art nude photography, although I have never participated in that branch of the industry. I think nude art is beautiful and empowering, it’s just something I’ve never personally been interested in doing. I do not regret my decision thus far, it just isn’t the direction I would like to take my career.

DSCF0272GlamModelz Magazine: When reviewing photographer’s online portfolios, what grabs your attention? What type of images gets you in the mood to shoot with them? Emma Rose: I look for versatility when reviewing photographers’ portfolios. I like unique, artistic, and straight-from-the-heart styles. I love to see out-of-the-ordinary images that still have a familiar feel to them. I love edgy photos that may push limits. Art is art though, and I love looking at anyone’s portfolio! I love that no two photos are the same, just like no two portfolios will ever be the same. Our portfolios are like our thumbprints, and that’s one of my favorite things about modeling and photography.

GlamModelz Magazine: How do your friends and family feel about your modeling? And how do you handle any negative feelings, especially for other women who resent your successes? Emma Rose: My friends and family are extremely supportive of my modeling journey, and I couldn’t be more grateful! My mother is and will always be my number one fan. She is my rock and my motivation to keep going. My sisters are my best friends and they are always so supportive/help my get my name out there. I’m so thankful for my amazing, encouraging family! I believe in ignoring negativity as much as possible. It will make your path to success a lot easier if you do. In my eyes, there is no reason to resent my, or any other woman’s, success. We should empower each other. I am more than happy to help anyone get to where I am today, and hell them climb the ladder with me. In fact, I truly love helping other girls who don’t know how to get started in modeling!

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you have any hobbies or special interests that you feel contribute to your success in modeling and why do you feel they are a contributing to achieve your goals? Emma Rose: Absolutely. I love yoga and distance running, they are definitely my two favorite hobbies. They are both huge contributing factors to my success; they keep me in shape. I love hair and makeup also, so I love practicing and experimenting with that as well. My best friend, Courtney Fox, is an amazing makeup artist. One of my favorite hobbies is learning about makeup with her!

It's All About Style

A quick note:  The following discussion is how my thought processes effect my style.  It is up to each individual on how they approach the artistic side of photography. Merriam-Webster defines style as: "a particular manner or technique by which something is done, created, or performed". Style is something that I personally don't think is learned but ultimately is how the creative person perceives the world and translates that onto their canvas.  In the world of photography it ...

GlamModel: Sandi

A lot of models have crossed my threshold in the past 40 years. I’m always a bit apprehensive on our first shoot. Stunning young women try to start off the shoot with their best foot forward and set the mood for a successful day. After a while it’s easy to see through this façade and into the inner beauty within. Sandi never fit into that category. From our first meeting I could see her natural ...
