GlamModel: Cynthia Lopez

Posted by GlamModelz Magazine on May 20, 2012 6 Comments

GlamModelz Magazine interviews Glam Model, Cynthia Lopez,  Phoenix, Arizona. Cynthia Lopez has a unique style that is all her own.  With creative posing, beautiful features and expression, Cyn is fast becoming a recognizable face within the Glamour and Art Modeling Industry and we are so proud to include her in GlamModelz Magazine.

GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business Cyn: and what goals have you set for yourself? Cyn: I honestly started out taking photos of myself with a camera and tri-pod, and submitted them under agency websites that I found on Craigs List for promotional modeling opportunities. Later on, I did work with photographers,  while modeling trade for pictures to build my portfolio.

GlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101, any suggestions to newer models coming into the business?  Cyn: You have to embrace yourself from within, go with the feelings that get you what you want, express it, and let it out. This is what makes a piece of work look artful. Be yourself. Know what looks good on you, such as, poses, expressions, gestures, props, styles, movements and whatever you have that’s creative to add or collaborate with. Use your brain to be creative and think of yourself as an artist. Take great pics and get them in the eyes of everyone and think of it as a treat for them.

GlamModelz Magazine: What has been your greatest success to date?  Cyn: Modeling has allowed me to meet amazing people in the industry of art,  business marketing and all sorts of trades while making money! I have been able to work part time, full time and pick up work when I want, or need, and continue going to school to become a nurse. I have had so much fun doing print work, working for the Arizona Rattlers, being on ESPN, CheerN.com (Babes of Sports), broadcasting live with 98KUPD on air, performed many fashion shows within the Phoenix area, been featured on the Website: HotTechToday.com as a spokes model (you can find me on here with video footage), you can also find me on YouTube under Platinum Playmates. Right now, my favorite piece of work is being a model for American Laser Skincare and you can find a center near you at www.americanlaser.com. They are nationwide and amazing! Just say Cynthia Lopez from Phoenix sent you! I have been modeling since August 2007, and have a lot more work that I have done that is not all here because there is too much! This is what has all led me to where I am today.
IMG_9369GlamModelz Magazine: When working on concepts for upcoming shoots, how much thought or effort do you put into it? Where does your inspiration come from? Cyn: I am a VERY visual person and constantly think about my upcoming shoots. This is how ideas are made. I passionately day dream away when I’m thinking about what I want to do outside of the box. I cannot stop thinking about all the things I want to create. Most of the time, I don’t get a chance to do all of what I want to do at once. So, those thoughts and ideas just get added to my to do list; I don’t think I forget about those visual ideas too often.  I like to be different and play with physical things, colors, textures, themes, different scenes, liquids, clothing, accessories, angels, makeup, hair, lighting, body contouring, expression facial and non facial. I would say I do put a lot of thought, time, passion and yes, some money into my work.  My inspiration comes from art of the body and photography. I was a gymnast and I was so attracted to the art of the body and what we could do with it.  I am particular with working with photographers and people that have passion, ambition, creativity, good taste, and whom take great pride in their hard work –like I do.

IMG_9329GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with implied and nude posing?   Cyn: Don’t show the goodies! I love implied work and nude, however, I don’t believe that showing nipples and the cookie jar downstairs is very tasteful. In my opinion nude posing is classy when done in an artful way without creating a “sell sex” appeal. You must have a purpose for what you are trying to create. “The noblest pleasures is the joy of understanding.” –Leonardo da Vinci. He sure had art with nudity and so did Michaelangelo, everybody knows the statue of David, this piece has a purpose and like Leonardo stated in reference to “understanding,” you can gather  what his purpose was when you look at the statue. Posing nude is not bad, like I said it depends on what your showing, and what your purpose is. If I wanted to sell sexual webcaming footage, it would probably be a good idea to show goodies because it portrays the idea of what that person’s purpose is. Particularly, I have a rule, I do not show the goodies!

GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of family, friends and significant other in regards to your decisions for your modeling career to date? Cyn: Yes! My entire family has been very helpful, when I need help with getting a project done, or doing work that I need help with. They are just about always there to offer their time, opinions, knowledge, wisdom, and moral support! My parents live minutes from my home, I am very close to them and wouldn’t have it any other way.

IMG_9337GlamModelz Magazine: What gets you motivated everyday to stay in shape and look your best at all times?  Cyn: I am very passionate about my shape! If I gain too much on my butt it tends to make the bottom half of my hourglass figure more disfigured. This usually happens if I drink soda, and more than that same meal, twice. I do exercise to stay in shape and keep my heart, body and mind healthy as well as my mood. Genetically I seem to age slowly, I bloomed later than every friend I’ve ever had and I truly believe we all age differently. I am blessed to have gotten some good genes.

GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general?  Cyn: I think people need to start out somewhere, whether you’re a photographer, model or whomever, might benefit from this trade. I think it’s a great thing. Nothing better than having something somebody else wants, and something that they have that you want. It’s like being on the same team. You have to be careful though, maybe go with a friend for the first time of meeting an individual like this especially if you found each other online. Referrals are good to take and give.

GlamModelz Magazine: What excited you the most when you first started modeling?  Cyn: It makes me feel beautiful and has given me power to advertise. I have the opportunity to put things that I believe in front of others.

GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions are a big part of a photo session, how and where did you learn this?  Cyn: I learned this though trial and error. I like to be animated, sexy, innocent and have a wide variety of different looks. It depends on what you are trying to sell. If your trying to sell a bikini or alcohol you need it to usually be generally sexy, you can also implement several looks into just being sexy. It’s not just about facial expressions either, your attitude and body language are also read by a picture, video, over a telephone, webcam, or radio.
