GlamModelz Magazine: Welcome to GlamModelz Magazine Janae Marie!

Jan_coverGlamModelz Magazine: Posing 101 any suggestions to newer models coming into the business? Janae Marie: I would just like for new models to know that we’re not all perfect and in this industry, sometimes we will loose. It is important to always stick to what you believe in and believe in yourself…and know that we are all beautiful in our own way. If the next person can’t see that, then they are letting their own blindness get in the way. All things are possible and don’t let anybody tell you different. If this is truly something you want, work hard and work on your craft as best you can. Go for it, especially for the people that always show you respect. There is a place for us all!

GlamModelz Magazine: When working with a photographer, do you bring your own concepts and idea’s as well as working with theirs? Janae Marie: When I prepare myself for a shoot, I always think of my own concepts at first. Sometimes I get really deep into thought about what I want to bring to the shoot. Then once I communicate with the photographer, I can also get an idea of their thoughts and concepts too. We cab try to intertwine our ideas together.

GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues concerning Implied and Nude posing? Janae Marie: For me personally, I will only do selective implied nudes based upon my comfort level with the concept and the photographer. When a model decides to do nudes, then it should be their decision and only their decision. I will always support that model’s choice to do so.

Jan_0409GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of Family, Friends and loved ones with your modeling? Janae Marie: Yes, I have had a lot of support from my family and friends. I would like to have little more support from my family, but I come from a Christian family and sometimes they do not always agree with some of the modeling I choose to do.

GlamModelz Magazine: What would you like to see change in the industry from a model’s standpoint? Janae Marie: Seeing how I am African American, I would like to see there be more opportunities for African American women like myself in all areas of modeling. Let African American women get that chance to show off their true beauty as well.

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle the inappropriate offers and sometimes rude individuals when they contact you for a session together? Janae Marie: I don’t really think about it too much. I kind of let it roll it off my shoulders.

GlamModelz Magazine: Your thoughts on TFP or TFCD sessions in general? Janae Marie: I think TFP or TFCD sessions are really good for both a model and a photographer, especially those who are just starting out. It is a good way for both parties to build their portfolio. But, I also fully agree with a photographer or a model that chooses to charge, especially if modeling or photography is their job and they have completely proven to be great at what they do.

Jan_0363cropGlamModelz Magazine: Any suggestions to models about wardrobe? What to have and where to find deals? Janae Marie: Me myself, I always make sure my wardrobe is on point. I think you have to just think ahead. It’s important to think about how you want to see yourself and how you want others to see you when looking at the final product. It’s also important for others to see how much you really want to achieve your goals.

GlamModelz Magazine: Do you feel that flexibility and diversity are important to a model portfolio? Janae Marie: I think diversity in a portfolio is definitely important. You want to be able to show that you can do a variety of modeling. You never know when or where your first opportunity is going to come from.

GlamModelz Magazine: How do you handle rejection from photographers, agencies, and your piers? Janae Marie: When I first started modeling, it was kind of a bummer, but now, having so much experience, and knowing that I “got it,” I see it as being their loss, not mine. “You snooze, you loose”…lol!
