GlamModelz Magazine interviews Glam Model Princess Lymari of Apopka, Florida. Princess Lymari, is a Cosplay model on the scene working hard to become an established model. GlamModelz Magazine is proud to be the first magazine to bring you this beautiful talented lady and give you some of her insights on the world of Glam.
GlamModelz Magazine: How did you get your start in the business Lymari, and what goals have your set for your self? Lymari: I started as a Cosplay model, dressing up on Costumes that I made for Conventions and because of that I was able to transition into modeling other clothes and swim suits. I do have a Bachelor’s Degree and I have a 40 hour job as a preschool teacher and I love my job. My goals are to keep improving on my modeling, that at the moment it’s just a Hobby and to better myself at my wok.
GlamModelz Magazine: When working on concepts for upcoming shoots, how much thought or effort do you put into it? Where does your inspiration come from? Lymari: I always do research online and I usually work with what I already have. Sometimes I will think of a specific shoot and I will talk to a photographer to work on the concept together and sometimes the photographer will see my costumes and they will come up with amazing ideas for new shoots.
GlamModelz Magazine: What are your thoughts and issues with implied and nude posing? Lymari: I do not have any issues with implied and nude posing, but I don’t think that I’m ready to do anything like that. I do love looking at the pictures and the great that the models and photographers are able to accomplish with implied nude posing and sometimes will make think about me doing something like that, but I don’t think that I’m brave enough to do that.
GlamModelz Magazine: Tell us the funniest story that has personally happened to you on a runway or photoshoot: Lymari: I think that the funniest thing that ever happened to me is that I went to a shoot and after I got there I find out that I was missing part of my outfit and I had to go out to the mall to buy a couple of things to improvise and complete my outfit.
GlamModelz Magazine: The Modeling reality TV shows have created quite an interest in modeling these days. Can you offer any advice for those interested in getting their big break? Any tips for models wishing to do it sooner rather than later? Lymari: I think that the reality TV shows are a good avenue for people trying to get ahead and an opportunity to refine their modeling skills. My advice for those interested will be that never let people to tell you that you are not good enough, always believe in yourself and you will be able to accomplish anything. Do not wait for somebody to help you, if you want to do some modeling, just do it and follow your gut.
GlamModelz Magazine: Have you had the support of family, friends and significant other in regards to your decisions for your modeling career to date? How do you handle negative feelings from those intimidated with your success? Lymari: I have always had the support of my family and friends, as a matter of fact I do have two members of my family that are photographers and two other members that are models and we always support each other. I haven’t had to handle any negative feelings from anyone as of yet.
GlamModelz Magazine: Facial expressions and body language are sometimes the hardest part of a successful photo session, how and where did you learn this and do you have any special routines or rituals you go through when you are preparing for a photoshoot?? Lymari: I will usually watch videos and pictures of professional models online to prepare for a photo session, I will also have a small mirror with me to work on my facial expressions.
GlamModelz Magazine: Posing is, of course, one of the biggest parts of modeling. What inspires you in the unique gracefully poses you seam to be pulling off? What advise would you offer new models to the industry? Lymari: I just try to be natural and play the part. A lot of my shoots are wearing costumes (Cosplaying) and those are easy, because you just have to make sure that you are acting the part of that character that you are at that moment, it will be the same for regular modeling, just be yourself and don’t try to be someone that you are not. My advice for new models is to make sure that you are not forcing your poses and that sometimes a simple pose will be the best pose for any shoot.
GlamModelz Magazine: When reviewing photographer’s online portfolio, what really grabs your attention? What type of images gets you in the mood to shoot with them and what separates the great photographers in your mind? Lymari: I will look to their style and the portfolio they have. The reason why I do that is because I want to work with photographers that are compatible with my style and the type of pictures that I will like them to take of me. Cosplay, fashion and swimsuit modeling images will get me in the mood to shoot with them and the great photographers are the ones that are always looking for new ideas.
GlamModelz Magazine: Do you have any thoughts or advice you would like to pass along to photographers who shoot fashion shows? In you mind what makes a spectacular runway shot? Lymari: To always work with the model to get the perfect shoot. I consider the model and the photographer a team and they have to work together to get those shots that are going to wow everyone.
